This is a great winter hike: It’s short, east facing, and relatively low elevation. The route twists and turns appearing to dead end before reaching the summit of Magic Mountain. From there you have the option of bagging Crabby Appleton, which is about 20 minutes away. The descent is down the climber’s gully, which is much faster than retracing your steps.
