Location: 35 miles NW of Las Vegas. Less than one hour from the Strip.
Directions: Go north on US 95, then west (left) on State Route 157 or 156. Go to map.
Best Season: Summer.
Visitor Center: Open 7 days a week during the summer. Hours 9 to 4. Phone: 702-872-5486. Drive 17 miles along State Route 157. Turn right as you drive through the round-about. You can see the Visitor Center from the road.
Fees: None.
Permits: None needed for day hiking.
