1-13-2012: I just updated the Indecision Peak hike. This update avoids the dangerous boulder field.

12-25: Most of the ice has melted. There might be some ice high up on North facing routes.

12-16: North facing routes still have snow and ice.

12-12: Lots of snow in Red Rock. Hike around Lake Mead for now.

12-5: Lots of snow and ice on all north facing routes.

12-1: Big storm in Red Rock. Snow likely at 4,000 feet tonight. Hike Lake Mead.

11-04: It snowed in Red Rock today (11-4). With snow and ice in the canyons and on the peaks, the best bet for the next few days is to hike around Lake Mead.

11-01: The Scenic Loop Road at Red Rock Canyon now closes at 5 pm daily.

10-14: Just added Eva's Tower hike. This is a wild class 3 route. That brings the total to 120 hikes in Red Rock!

10-13: Just hiked Lost Creek Peak via Griffiti Ridge. The route is well cairned.

7-2: Just updated the Boot Boulder hike. It's easier to follow and has a new descent route, which is faster.

5-9: Just published Burlap Buttress for members. It's the least climbed peak in Red Rock.

4-18: All snow and ice have melted. The waterfalls are going dry. It's getting warm; bring more water.

3-22: Most of Red Rock is covered in snow and ice. Hike in Calico Basin or around Lake Mead.

3-4: Snow and ice are melting fast in Red Rock.

3-1: Lots of snow and ice on north and west facing routes in Red Rock.

2-19: It snowed in Red Rock today. Most routes have snow. Watch for ice in canyons.

2-16: Snow forecasted and there's still ice on some north facing routes.

1-6: All waterfalls in Red Rock are flowing big-time. Lots of snow on west and north facing routes. Too dangerous to rock scramble.

11-19: Just updated both First Creek Peak and First Creek Overlook Peak with more photos and waypoints.

11-4: Scenic Loop Road closes at 5 pm until March.

10-20: The sandstone is very brittle after all this rain. However, it's a great time to see seasonal waterfalls in the canyons.

9-30: Just published Gray Cap Peak via Twin Tanks route, one of the best hikes out of Calico Basin!

9-20: The Scenic Loop drive now closes at 5 pm. If you are in the park you have until 8 pm to exit. But you must be in the park before 5 pm. This is new. The Scenic Loop has always closed at 8 pm in September. Just another way the management at Red Rock is trying to limit hiking.
