Red Rock Fast Facts:

• Location: 20 miles west of Las Vegas.

• Directions: Drive west (10 to 18 miles) on Charleston Blvd. (State Route 159) . Turn right into Red Rock Canyon.

• Scenic Loop: Hours are 6 am to dusk. It's a 13-mile one-way paved road that is access to many of the trailheads. Open everyday of the year.
  
  
• Visitor Center: Open daily 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m.

• Fee: $5.00 per car. $20 for a yearly pass. Golden Eagle pass accepted.

• Permits: None needed for day hiking.

• Camping: About two miles before the entrance to Red Rock on State Route 159. $10 per night. Water and toilets available. It's called Red Rock Campground.

• Elevation range: 3,394 feet (1034 m) to 7092 feet (2161 m).

• Size: 195,610 acres

• Hikes: < 1 mile to 12 miles. All difficulties.

• Dogs: Must be on a leash.

• Horses: Designated trails.

• Bikes: Allowed on Scenic Loop.

• Mountain bikes: Designated trails.

• Firearms: Not permitted.

• Gasoline: None available.
