Hi, I am Branch Whitney, the guy behind Hiking Las Vegas. I am also the author of "Hiking Las Vegas: 60 hikes Within 60 Minutes of the Strip,"  "Hiking Southern Nevada," and the CD "120 Best Hikes in Southern Nevada and Beyond." This Web site has been on the Internet since 1998. The Member's Only club started in 1999 with 63 hikes. Since 1995 I have hiked thousands of miles in southern Nevada and beyond.  I have been a hike leader for the Las Vegas Mountaineers and the Sierra Club. 

Through my books, CD, and Member's Only club, I can take you places where few humans have ever been. From sheer thousand foot drop-offs, to mountains where less than 30 people a year make it to the peak, southern Nevada is one of the best kept hiking secrets in the country. No trash, no graffiti, no signs of humans. Some things never change.

I'm an individual that believes the mountains are here for everyone to enjoy. I really think most people would love hiking and rock scrambling if they gave it a try. I believe people would be happier and healthier if they spent more time in the mountains and less time in a smoke-filled casino. This site is your ultimate reference for hiking in southern Nevada.
