Fast Facts for Red Rock Canyon
Location: 20 miles west of Las Vegas. Less than 30 minutes from the Strip!
Directions: Drive west (10 to 18 miles) on Charleston Blvd. (State Route 159) . Turn right into Red Rock
Canyon. Go to map.
Best Season: Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Scenic Loop: Hours are 6 am to dusk. It's a 13-mile one-way paved road that is access to many of the
trailheads. Open everyday of the year.
Visitor Center: Open daily 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m.

Fee: $7.00 per car. $30 for a yearly pass. Golden Eagle pass accepted.
Permits: None needed for day hiking.
Camping: About two miles before the entrance to Red Rock on State Route 159. $10 per night. Water and
toilets available. It's called Red Rock Campground.
Closed during the summer.
Elevation range: 3,394 feet (1034 m) to 7092 feet (2161 m).
Size: 195,610 acres
Hikes: < 1 mile to 12 miles. All difficulties. Over 100 on this website. The offical website has 19
hikes.
Dogs: Must be on a leash.
Horses: Designated trails.
Bikes: Allowed on Scenic Loop.
Mountain bikes: Designated trails.
Firearms: Not permitted.
Gasoline: None available.
