Cockscomb Ridge - 3- Great views of the entire Mt. Charleston
area.
Mummy Springs - 3 - The trail passes an 3,000 year old
bristlecone pine.

Fletcher Canyon - 1 - The best easy hike in Mt. Charleston. Year
round water.
Fletcher Peak - 3 Some of the best views in Mt. Charleston.
Griffith Peak - 3 - Griffith Peak, the third highest peak in
southern Nevada, offers one of the best views in the Mt. Charleston Area.
Griffith Peak - 3 - From Harris Springs. Very scenic and the
gravel road is now drivable by passenger car.
Mack's Peak - 3 - Tough, but short route to a seldom climbed peak. MR
Mary Jane Falls - 2 - The most popular hike in Mt. Charleston.
McFarland - 5 - Classic route to a seldom climbed peak. Southern approach. MR
McFarland - 5 - The best route to McFarland. Avoids the Bonanza Trail. MR
Mummy's Chin - 5 - Very seldom climbed peak. Overlooks ski area. MR
Mummy Mountain - 5 - Classic route above Mummy Springs to the
second highest peak in southern NV. MR
Mummy Mountain -4- The easiest way to Mummy Mountain. Mostly
trail.
Mummy's Nose - 4 - One of the best hikes in Mt. Charleston.
Mummy The Hard Way -5- Over 4,500 feet elevation gain! One of the
toughest hikes in Mt. Charleston!
Mummy's Toe - 4 - Great views of Kyle Canyon. Few have climbed to this peak. MR
Robber's Roost - 1- Easy hike to cave where Mexican bandits hide
out.
Sisters North and South -4 - Route travels to both peaks
passing two natural rock arches. MR

Bridge Mountain - 4- Considered by many to be the best hike in
Red Rock Canyon.
Bridge Mountain via North Peak Wash - 4- This route travels up
North Peak Wash and then goes around Ice Box Canyon before picking up the standard route to Bridge Mountain.
Bridge Mtn. via Pine Creek - 5 - The best hike just got BETTER!
Bridge Point - 5 A local favorite. Sits to the east of Bridge Mountain.

high point in Calico Hills.

First Creek Overlook Peak - 2 - One of the best, easy hikes in
Red Rock. Fantastic views!
First Creek Waterfall - 1- Take the family to see a
seasonal waterfall in the desert.
Gunsight Notch Pk - 4 - Great views of Juniper Canyon and Rainbow
Wall.
Hidden Pk - 5 - Another awesome peak in Black Velvet Canyon.
Ice Box Canyon Overlook - 3 Hike
travels deep into Ice Box Canyon. At the Overlook you are looking
Indecision Peak - 5- Straight up assault on a seldom climbed
peak.
Juniper Peak - 3 - One of the top five hikes in Red Rock Canyon.
Keystone Thrust - 1- Easiest and shortest hike to the famous
Keystone Thrust fault line.
Las Vegas Overlook - 2- Great views of Las Vegas from the top.
Lost Creek Canyon - 1- Good beginner's hike with a seasonal
waterfall.
Lost Creek Cave - 2 - Quick scrambling route. Great photo
opportunity at the cave.
Mescalito Pk - 5 - This is a tough peak with lots of class III scrambling. A
local favorite.
Monument Pk - 5- One of the toughest peaks in Red Rock. Large tank near the
peak.
Mt. Wilson - 5 - The toughest peak in Red Rock. Virtually no brush if you
follow the route.
North Pk - 3 - Highest unofficial point in Red Rock Canyon. Includes route
to overlook.
Oak Creek - 2- Classic bouldering route through a fantastic canyon.
Oak Peak - 3 - One of the best moderate hikes in Red Rock!
Pine Creek - 1 - Great beginner's bouldering route that ends at a pool.
Rainbow Wall - 5 - Stand at the top of a 1,200 foot vertical wall!
Sandstone Quarry Loop - 1 - Easy desert hike.
Terrace Canyon - 3 - Great bouldering route through one of the
prettiest canyons in Red Rock.
The Park - 2 Hidden high in the sandstone is an area that looks like a park.
And it's easy to get to!
Turtlehead Pk (trail) -3- One of the few limestone peaks in Red
Rock Canyon.
Turtlehead Jr. - 2- The best short scrambling route in Red Rock.

Peak -4- The most illusive
peak in Red Rock just became easier to conquer. This is the northern route to
the peak.

4 Another great hike to a peak in south Red Rock.
Lake Mead

Anniversary Narrows - 1 Very detailed hike description.
The hike ends at the far side of the narrows.
Arizona Hot Springs - 2 - Relax in the hot springs. A
very popular hike.
Callville Bay - 1 - Easy hike around the bay.
Fortification Hill - 3 - The best view of Lake Mead, Las Vegas, and
Spring Mountains.
Frenchman Mtn. - 3 - Great view from the peak. This is the mountain many
mistakenly call Sunrise Mtn. It's a
classic.
Frenchman Mtn. - 2 - Walk the road to the peak.
Gold Strike Hot Springs - 2 - Relax in the hot springs.
Hamblin Mtn. - 3 - Vistas of Pinto Valley, Lake Mead, Bowl of Fire, and Las
Vegas make this one of the most
scenic hikes in Lake Mead.
Historic Railroad Tunnels - 1- The trail follows an old
railroad track.
Lava Butte - 2 - Great views of Lake Mead.
Liberty Bell Arch - 2 - A must do hike. Thousands of years of wind
have formed an arch through the
conglomerate rock. If that isn’t enough, the lunch spot overlooks
the Colorado River.
Muddy High Point - 3 - Highest peak in the Muddy Mountains.
Fantastic views.
Muddy Pk - 5- Another classic with a fantastic view of Lake Mead and Hidden
Valley.
Muddy Peak (Southern route) - 4 - Avoids long drive. Great views along the ridge to the peak. Best
peak to bag around Lake Mead.
North Bowl of Fire Loop - 3 - In the middle of the barren
desert sits the brilliant red Bowl of Fire. Think of it as a miniature Red Rock Canyon.
Northshore Pk and Knife-Edge Ridge - 3 - Cross-country scramble
with a pseudo knife-edge ridge.
Northshore Summit - 1 - A short hike the whole family can enjoy.
Pyramid Peak - 3 - One of the best moderate hikes around Lake Mead. Great views
of Lake Mead, Pinto Valley, and Pointy Peak.
Red/Black Mountain - 2- Good family hike with great views of Las
Vegas and Lake Mead.
Redstone Peaks - 3- One of the best hikes around Lake Mead. There are several options: You
can do all four peaks or just one of the peaks.
Other Areas
Boundary Pk - 5- The highest peak in Nevada. It soars 13,140 feet into the air.
I have included Montgomery Pk - it's a 0.5 mile hike from Boundary Pk. MR
Damsel Pk - 3 - Quick hike with a great view of Red Rock Canyon. This is the
peak just to the north of
Turtlehead Peak.
Gass Pk -3 - The views of
Las Vegas from the peak are some of the best and most unique.
Hayford Pk - 5- Highest point in the Sheep Mountain Range.
La Madre Pk - 3 - Northern route. Not as loose as the southern route. Goes past
the La Madre scar.
Moapa Pk - 5 - A classic with a real knife-edge ridge.
Mouse's Tank - 1 - The trail is named after an Indian who used the area for a hideout in the
1890s. Valley of Fire hike.
Mt. Whitney -
5 - Mountaineer's Route. Highest peak in the continental United States.
Summerlin Pk -
3- Great views of Summerlin and Vegas, plus a cool ridgeline traverse.

5 - Fourth highest peak in Nevada.
Bristlecone -
Glacier Trail - 2- Trail leads
to Nevada's only glacier.
Wheeler Peak -
4- Second highest peak in NV.
Sedona
Bear Mountain -
3- This hike is another gem. Fantastic views, coupled with an interesting trail,
makes this one of the best hikes in Sedona.
Boynton Canyon -
2 - The canyon is one of four vortex areas Sedona is famous for. The scenery is
breath taking.
Vista Trail -
1- Short hike with incredible views.
West Fork of Oak
Creek Canyon - 1- One of the
most popular hikes in Sedona. Good hike to do during warmer weather.
Wilson Mountain -
3 - My favorite hike in Sedona. It's starts out like Red Rock terrain and
changes to Mt.
Charleston type
terrain. Great overlook of Sedona.
Yosemite
Grizzly Giant -
1 - The largest tree in the world famous Mariposa Grove.
Half Dome -
4 - One of the best hikes in the country!
Illilouette Falls
- 2 - Hike part of the
Panorama Trail, voted the most scenic trail in the U.S., to Illilouette Falls.
Mist Trail -
3- The hike for waterfalls. You walk past Vernal and Nevada Falls.
Sentinal Dome -
1- Fantastic view of Yosemite Valley and surrounding peaks.
Vernal Falls -
1 - Easy hike with a great view of Vernal Falls.
Wawona Tunnel
Tree - 2 - World famous tunnel
tree in the Mariposa Grove. This is the tree cars drove through!
Yosemite Falls
and Point - 3- One of the most
famous waterfalls in the world.
Zion
National Park
Angels Landing -
3 - Angels Landing is one of the most
popular hikes in Zion. It's not for
anyone scared of heights. Chains have been installed along the
exposed part of the ridge.
Emerald Pools -
1- The hike passes three pools and a
waterfall. There are some great photos
opportunities at the pools.
Hidden Canyon -
2- Easy hike with option to hike off trail into the canyon.
Observation Point
- 3- The best overlook in Zion
Canyon.
